Tours Explanations

MTC01 TRF APT OR STA/HTL OR V.V

Transfers from Air-Port, Railway Station, or Bus Terminal to Hotel or V.V.

Meet and assist by Maadi Travel personnel to ease formalities through immigration and customs area. Then transfer by air-conditioned bus to the hotel.

 

MTC02 F/D PYR & SAK - Duration 8 hours

Full day tour, visit to:

A) The three Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren and Mycerinus, one of the seven wonders of the world. A single Pyramid is built with 2,300,000 blocks, each weighting an average of two and one-half tons. On the way down to the valley temple of Chephren, you pass by the most famous piece of statuary - the Great Sphinx of Giza. This unforgettable statue combines the head of a Pharaoh with a lion's body.

Continue to Papyrus institute to experience how ancient Egyptians made the first paper in history.

B) Sakkara, one of the most exciting historical and archaeological areas in all of Egypt. The site is dominated by the famous Step Pyramid of king Zoser, preceding those at Giza and it is the work of the famous Pharaonic architect Imhotep.

MTC04 H/D EGY. MUS - Duration 4 hours

The Egyptian Museum is the most important depository of Egyptian antiquities any where in the world. It feature artifacts from the Pharaonic and Greco - Roman periods, including the celebrated mummies of ancient Egypt's Kings and Tutankhamen treasures.

 

MTC05 F/D CITY - Duration 8 hours

Full day tour Egyptian Museum and City, visit to Egyptian Museum, explanation as MTC04 and continue to Old Cairo to visit the Citadel of Salah Eldin. This 13th century fortress commands a splendid view of the city. One of the Citadel buildings is the Mohammed Ali Mosque, well known as the Alabaster mosque. Continue to Sultan Hassan Mosque and Schools, its entirety, is a rare master piece of Islamic architecture, the walls are covered with marble, the dome is of a unique design and the only one of its kind in Egypt.

Also visit to Ahmed Ibn Touloun Mosque, it is distinctive in its huge dimensions, its minaret is unique in Egypt as it is distinguished by an external staircase. Drive to Al Azhar Mosque, the first Fatimid mosque in Cairo and Al Azhar university, one of the oldest in the world. Then continue at Khan El Khalili Bazaars for typical Egyptian souvenirs according to your choice such as Papyrus sheet with Pharaonic design or Cartouche (Gold or Silver) typical Egyptian dress (Galabia) or any other item of your liking.

 

MTC06 F/D PYR & MUS - Duration 6 hours

Full day tour Pyramids and Egyptian Museum. Explanation as MTC03 and MTC04.

 

MTC07 S & L SHOW BY PYR

After, sunset each evening the Pyramids come to life. The drama of lights and shadows give the Pyramids an awe some dimension. Voices seeming to come from the Sphinx narrating their history. The 45 Minute show is presented in English, French, Spanish, German and Arabic.

 

MTC08 PHARAONIC VILLAGE - Duration 3 hours

The Pharaonic village, located on Jacob's island in Giza and inhabited by 300 Egyptians living in an ancient Egyptian atmosphere and practicing their daily activities. Visitors reach the village by floating amphitheaters which take them through canals and step by step they visit statues temples and mummification rooms.

 

MTC09 SHOW DINNER CRUISE - Duration 4 hours

Dinner and folklore show on board of a nice cruise boat. Enjoying Cairo by night.

 

MTC10 EXC. ALEX - OVER DAY

Excursion to Alexandria, about 3 hours driving from Cairo to Alexandria, visit to the Greco-Roman Museum, this Museum houses a rare coin collection during the Greco- Roman period, and one of the finest collections to be found in the world. Continue to visit Fort Kaitbay, one of the  seven wonders of the world. It was the sensation of it's time and the praise of poets and engineers. A hundred years later the Mamlucke Sultan Kaitbay fortified it as part of his coastal defense.

Then continue to the Catacomb, the magnificent tombs of the Roman period. This extremely interesting monument has been preserved in its original state.

Continue drive to Montazah Palace, located on the Mediterranean shore and surrounded by beautiful parks and Gardens. It reflects the life-style of the former Egyptian royal family.

 

MTC11 EXC. WADI EL NATROUN - Duration 6 hours

Excursion to Wadi El Natroun Monasteries, driving through Alexandria Desert Road [100 Km], visit to (Deir EL Surian), meet the Monks at house and see a selection of wonderful ancient Icons and paintings of the Holy Family. Visit to (Deir Amba Bishoi) who came from a small village from Delta area to devote his life to Christianity.

 

MTC12 EXC. FAYOUM - Duration 8 hours

Excursion to Fayoum, Egypt's largest Oasis, located 90 KM South East of Cairo.

Explore the present-day town and the remains of the ancient city dedicated to Sobek, the crocodile god.

 

MTC13 TRF CAI / RAFAH OR TABA BORDER OR V.V

Transfer by air-conditioned bus through Sinai desert with meet and assist at border.

 

MTC14 EXC. LXR - BY PLANE - OVER DAY

MTL02 CLASSICAL LXR - Duration 8 hours

A) Visit to east bank, temples of Karnak and Luxor. The ruins of Karnak buildings are the most wonderful in Egypt, the work of over 2000 years of builders, heart of the cult of the god Amon. Each pharaoh added his own contribution to the temple.

Then continue to Luxor temple, The temple dedicated to the Theban god Amon-Ra. The first builder of Luxor Temple was Amenophis III.

B) Visit to west bank, crossing the Nile by ferry boat. The land of the dead. The first stop is the Valley of the Kings, which houses tombs of famous Theban rules such as Seti I, Ramses 6th and Tutankhamen. The tour continues to the Funerary Temple of Hatshepsut (Dier El Bahari), traditionally connected with the cult of Hathour, goddess of Love and Joy. The famous colossi of Memnon once guarded the entrance to the Funerary temple of Amenophis II.

MTL04 S & L SHOW BY KAR

Spectacular 45 minute show are presented evening in the enormous temple of Karnak, this is one of the world best Sound and Light shows, it is a four stop walk with 30 minute in front of the Sacred Lake.

 

MTL05 ESN, EDF, KOM, ASW - Duration 8 hours.

En route to Aswan, the first stop will be Esna. The temple of Esna dedicated to the Ram-Headed god Khnum. The next site is Edfu, the temple of Edfu, dedicated to the Falcon god Horus, is the best preserved temple of all Egypt. Kom-Ombo is the last stop, temple of Kom-Ombo was dedicated two gods, Sobek, the Crocodile god and Haroes, one of the solar manifestations of Horus.

 

MTL06 EXC. DANDARA - Duration 6 hours.

Still closer to Luxor is the beautiful temple of Dander, dedicated to Hathour, the goddess of Love and Beauty. The present temple was constructed by the Ptolemies and the Romans.

 

MTL07 EXC. DANDARA & ABYDOS - Duration 8 hours.

AS MTL06 plus ABYDOS. There are several extant temples at Abydos dedicated to Osiris and the most important are those of Seti 1 and his son Ramses II.

The after life was an important concept to the Egyptians and the story of Osiris was a proof to them. And Abydos is the town where Osiris head was supposed to have been hidden by his murderous brother.

 

MTL08 LXR - HRG BY BUS - Duration 4 hours

Transfer by air-conditioned coach, pass through a nice country road for 300 K.M to Hurghadah, the most attractive spot on the Red sea.

MTA02 CLASSICAL ASW - Duration 6 hours

A delightful excursion by Felucca to the small islands of the Nile including Elephantine Island the original site of the town of Aswan and Kitchener's Island, it is originally owned by Lord Kitchener. The island is now a botanical garden. Also included is a visit to the Mausoleum of the Agha Khan. Continue to Aswan High Dam, it is located four miles south of the Old one, and is worth a visit to see one of Egypt's modern monumental achievements. On the way visit to the Granite Quarries, an area which you can discover the activity during the Pharaonic period, these quarries produced granite for colossi, most notable is the unfinished obelisk abandoned because of flaws found in the partly worked block.

 

MTA03 H/D TOUR ASW - Duration 3 hours.

MTA04 H/D PHILAE TEMPLE - Duration 3 hours.

The Philae temple were partially inundated by the first Aswan Dam. When the High Dam threatened to cover them entirely, the ruins were dismantled, transported block by block and reassembled on a nearly island .

 

MTA05 S & L SHOW BY PHI

Spectacular 45 minute show every evening by Philae temple, presenting how emperor Trajan is depicted in the presence of Isis and Osiris, it come to life the drama of lights and shadows.

 

MTA06 EXC. ABS BY PLANE - Duration 4 hours

Transfer from hotel to Aswan Air-Port, fly for half hour to Abu Simble. It is one of the greatest experiences of a trip to Egypt is to stand in the presence of the four colossal statues before The Great Temple of Ramses II.

When the Aswan High Dam was planned, it was anticipated that the waters of Lake Nasser would inundate the temples, so they were dismantled by cutting them into parts then reassembled in higher place, exactly the same position.
